How to detect magnets? Inspection items and contents of neodymium iron boron strong magnets

Some customers, before customizing magnets, need to send samples to the magnet manufacturer for testing in order to produce qualified samples due to their own unclear understanding of the material, performance grade, and surface Gaussian of the magnets used by their company.

The detection of finished neodymium iron boron magnets generally uses measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, Gauss gauges, fluxmeters, and film thickness gauges.

The film thickness gauge mainly measures the thickness of the electroplating layer of finished neodymium iron boron magnets. The use of a film thickness gauge can effectively monitor the quality of electroplating, and flexible adjustments can be made during magnet electroplating.

Micrometers and vernier calipers mainly measure the tolerance and size of magnets, in millimeters.

The Gauss meter mainly measures the magnetic force at a point on the surface of a magnet, measured in Gauss. As the magnetic force at each point on the surface of the magnet is different, and the edge magnetic force is higher than the magnetic force at the center point, the measured data error is relatively large.

Magnetic flux meters mainly measure the magnetic force on one surface of neodymium iron boron magnets, measured in Weber Wb. Compared to Gaussian meters, the data measured by magnetic flux meters is more objective and accurate.

Generally, magnet manufacturers choose magnetic flux meters to test finished neodymium iron boron magnets. It is recommended that customers also use magnetic flux meters when inspecting neodymium iron boron magnets with incoming materials. On the one hand, measurement is more convenient, and on the other hand, it is consistent with the testing standards of the magnet manufacturer. The test data is objective, accurate, and effective in monitoring the quality of the magnets in a timely manner.
