Magnet machining is mainly divided into these three types

Magnet mechanical processing is mainly divided into three types, namely cutting processing, shape processing, and drilling processing. Below, we will introduce each of them one by one.

Cutting processing: If the magnet is of regular shape, the magnet manufacturer will have a specialized slicing machine. If the magnet is of irregular shape, wire cutting processing must be used;

Shape processing: Process circular and square magnets into fan-shaped, tile shaped, slotted, polygonal, or other complex shaped magnets. Shape processing includes grinding slicing, inner circle slicing machine slicing, multi wire cutting slicing, and wire cutting irregular processing.

Punching processing: Usually, magnet punching is mainly used to punch countersunk holes, and there are also straight holes. The processing method for countersunk hole circular ring magnets is to cut or drill holes again after slicing, and the processing process requirements are relatively particular.

Give a few examples of commonly used magnets for processing to deepen your understanding;

Cylindrical magnet: With a diameter of 2mm to 100mm and a thickness of 0.5mm or above, it can be processed. Circular magnets are easy to process and can be formed in one go. The advantages of this type of magnet are fast processing speed and short delivery time.

Square magnet: Square magnets are slower to process because they require cutting on all six sides, and a product needs to be processed three times to succeed. Compared to circular magnets, square magnets have two more processes, resulting in slower processing speed and longer delivery times.

Holed magnet: It refers to the process of punching a specified size hole on the blank before cutting and processing the product. Magnetic products with holes need to be processed to a certain process before drilling and then cutting.
