Neodymium magnet, also known as NdFeB magnet, is a Tetragonal crystal system crystal formed by neodymium, iron and boron (Nd2Fe14B), which is a kind of rare earth permanent magnetic material. Masato Sagawa of Sumitomo Special Metals Company discovered Neodymium magnet in 1982.

The magnetic energy product (BHmax) of neodymium iron boron is larger than that of Samarium–cobalt magnet, and it was the material with the largest magnetic energy product in the world in 1982. Later, Sumitomo Special Metals successfully developed the powder metallurgy process, while General Motors successfully developed the melt spraying process, which can prepare neodymium iron boron magnets. This kind of magnet is a permanent magnet whose magnetism is second only to Absolute zero holmium magnet, and it is also the most commonly used Rare-earth magnet. Because of its excellent characteristics of high remanence, high Coercivity, and high magnetic energy product, it is widely used in devices and equipment with permanent magnetic fields such as electroacoustic telecommunications, motors, instruments, nuclear magnetic resonance, magnetic levitation, and magnetic seals. It is especially suitable for manufacturing various high-performance products, such as vcm sheets of optical drive motors, anisotropic magnets in the acoustic field, spiral magnets in oil exploration drilling machines, and products of different sizes and shapes in permanent magnet motors.
